Obituary
'Jerry Wayne Black, was born October 21, 1957 in Wayne County the son of the late Haynes Stanley and Verdie Godsey Black. He departed this life, Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home reaching an age of 58.
On March 17, 1979 he united in marriage with Joyce Ann Hall Black who survives. To this union two children survive: Heather and her husband Richard Lyons and Jeremy and wife Melissa Black.
Also surviving are his grandchildren: Kaitlyn Branscum, Joshua, Andrew, Lindsey and Nathan Black and Mason Lyons; siblings: Barbara Sue Bishop, Betty Jean, Roy Lee, Carl and Ronnie Black.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Verlene Kinser, Howard Black and an infant sister, Nellie Ruth Black.
Jerry worked for over 24 years with Tecumseh Manufacturing and ten years as a rural mail carrier. He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Jerry was a faithful husband, a loving father and grandfather and a friend to everyone he met.

2PM Wednesday in the Funeral Home Chapel
