'Jim Ray Brummett, age 70 was born in the Morris Hill Community of Wayne County, March 11, 1941 the son of the late Marsh and Ruth Savage Brummett. He departed this life suddenly Friday, July 29th at the Wayne County Hospital.

On July 17, 1965 he united in marriage with his wife of 46 years, Sally Gay Piercy Brummett. To this marriage two daughters survive; Rosa Brummett and Jimmy Gay Brummett all of Monticello.

Also surviving are his grandchildren; Amanda Shelton Eaton, Joe Shelton, Sean Decker, James Adam Shelton, Emily Jo Decker: His sisters; Mary Lois Upchurch, Margaret Dishman, Brenda Brummett, Judy Slagle, Betty Downs and brothers; David, Johnny, Danny, Gary and Larry Brummett with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
