'Joan S. Davis was born November 16th, 1939 in Wayne County to the late Tolbert W. and Lucy Garner Stringer and passed away Thursday morning at the Baptist Health in Lexington, reaching the age of seventy four years.

On September 8th, 1961 she united in marriage to her husband of fifty three years, Harold Davis, and to this union two children survive; Alice Davis and Edgar and his wife Diane Davis along with one grandson; Hunter Davis. Joan is also survived by her sisters; Lorene Richardson and Betreca Stringer and her brother; Henry Stringer along with a host of nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

She is preceded in death by her brother; John Stringer, and two infant grandchildren; Matthew and Evan Davis.

Joan had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and was a faithful member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. She also served faithfully beside her husband, as a member of the Gideon\u0027s International for over 40 years.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends that loved her so much.
