John Douglas Carter of Monticello, Kentucky was born June 21 ^st , 1942 and departed this life January 17 ^th , reaching the age of 79 years.

He was the son of the late Hubert and Natalie Holtegel Carter.

He is survived by one daughter; Jodie Marie (Sam) Ryon, one sister; Kathy Carter, one brother; Robert (Doris) Carter, one grandchild; Charlene Ryon, one great-grandchild Esme' Ryon, along with a host of nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.

John had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the Fall Creek Baptist Church. He was also a lifelong member of the U.A. Local 803.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 26 ^th from 12PM    until 1 PM in the funeral home chapel with funeral services following at 1PM. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
