Obituary
'John Henry Young, age 77, was born June 5, 1935 at Cooper Ky to the late Herbert and Lela (Bell) Young. He departed this life Sunday June 24, 2012 at the Veteran\u0027s Administration Hospice Care Center at Marion IL.
He was married to Carolyn Smith Bennett of Mt. Pisgah, KY and to that union was born two sons: John H. Young, Jr. and Perry L. Young of Monticello, KY and one daughter, Carol Ann Young (McCandless) of Lebanon, TN. Also surviving are grandchildren: John H. Young III, Brandis Ann Young, Jared Dale Young, Amy Jo Gonyer, Elizabeth Ann Nelson, Bennett Houston Bethel, and Ridge Michael Young and great-grandchildren: Zacheriah Cain Wills, Cydney Ann Nelson, Meghan Elizabeth Wills, Kaylyn Jo Crawford, Addison Young and Grant Richard Gonyer. He was preceded in death by a brother, James David Young and two sisters, Susie Ethel and Donna ReNa Young and grandparents: Elmer and Susie (Rice) Young and Colin and Ethel (Fairchild) Bell. He is survived by sisters Anna L. Tanner of Spotsylvania, VA, Doris E. Dyer of Wolcott, IN, and Wanda Young of Paducah, KY; brothers: Joe Young (Virginia) of The Villages, Fl, and Mark Young (Marilyn) of Wolcott, IN and one aunt, Cleora Bell, age 100, of Rensselaer, IN.
Mr. Young held the rank of corporal in the United States Marines Corp. and graduated in 1960 from the Industrial Training Institute in Chicago, IL. in radio and television. He enjoyed many hours of fishing, hunting, playing dominoes and card games.
