'Josie Velma Hart Hancock, age 79 was born in the Gap Creek community of Wayne County, February 27, 1938 the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Hurt Hart. She passed away, Friday, November 11 at the McCreary County Nursing Home.

She is survived by her children: Holly Jo (Gene) Murphy Stringer of Science Hill, Rickey (Ruth) Hancock of Mt. Sterling and Phillip Hancock of Somerset and her daughter in law Rebecca Hancock of Waynesburg.

Also surviving is her loving sister, Mary Rains; grandchildren: SaraJo, Jana and Jason Murphy, Jarred, Brian, Amanda, Alex and Kevin Hancock; great grandchildren: Zachary, Emily, Levi, William and Josie and soon a great-great grandchild and her sister-in-law, Audrey Hart with many nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.

She is preceded in death by her children: Gregory Hancock and Marshall Dwayne Hancock; siblings: Jim and George Hart, Martha Middleton, Metrie Massengale, Lora Miracle and Sarah Shelley.

Mrs. Hancock had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church #2 of Eubank.
