Joyce Keeton Roberts of Monticello was born October 2 ^nd ,1940 and departed this life Wednesday, June 1st, reaching the age of 81 years. She was the daughter of the late Jake and Marie Cooper Keeton.

Joyce married her high school sweetheart in 1960 and they were married 62 years. Unto this union, were two sons. She became a Christian at an early age and was a life-long member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church. She had a passion for music and enjoyed serving her church as choir director, as well as playing the piano and organ. She also used her musical talent by singing at hundreds of funerals over a span of 50 years. Joyce lived all her adult life on a farm in the Mill Springs community. She devoted her life to her boys and granddaughters attending almost everything they were involved in. She worked in the public in her earlier years where she was able to meet and talk with people. She enjoyed people so much but, in her later years, health issues did not allow her to attend church and fellowship like she desired, and she missed that terribly. Joyce never met a stranger and would make a friend wherever she went. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her husband Jimmy Roberts, she is survived her by two sons: Jamie Roberts and Tommy (Renee) Roberts as well as two grandchildren; Presley (Riley) Woods, and Grayson Roberts. She was preceded in death by one brother; Billy Keeton, and two sisters; Anna Lee Elam and Doris Hucaby.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5 ^th from 3PM until 6PM at the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church with funeral services following at 6PM. Burial will be Monday, June 6 ^th , at 10AM in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
