Joyce Dobbs Thompson was born May 29, 1944, and departed this life Friday, February 23, 2024, reaching the age of 79 years. She was the daughter of (the late) Leamon and Dellavine (Goodman) Dobbs.

She is survived by 1 son, Curtis (Penny) Thompson; 1 daughter, Theresa (Jeff) York; 4 grandchildren, Matthew York, Tasia York, Brittany Perkins, and CJ Thompson; 5 great grandchildren, Graham York, Cypress Broadhurst, Sabyl Broadhurst, Ariah Thompson, and Leighton Thompson; 9 siblings, Anita Brann, Jack Dobbs, Gary Dobbs, Ronnie Dobbs, Loretta Crabtree, Cindy Decker, Paul Dobbs, Lanny Dobbs, and Bruce Dobbs; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Kay Thompson; and 1 brother, Lindell Dobbs.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 11 AM – 2 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, February 26, 2024, at 2 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Denney Cemetery.
