Juanita Faye Guffey Brown was born August 6, 1925 to Samuel and Delilah Pyles Guffey and departed this life December 25, 2020, reaching the age of 95 years and four months.
She was united in marriage to Cecil Ray Brown on October 24, 1942. To this 71 year union, five children survive. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Lair; one granddaughter, Darcie Hobart; three son-in-laws, Fred Duncan Crouch, Paul Haynes and Don Lair; two sisters, Ruby Frost and Irene Guffey; two brothers, Gleason Pyles and Chester Guffey.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Crouch and Twila Haynes; three sons, Cecil Kay (Cathy)Brown, Gary (Janet) Brown and Barry (Kim) Brown. Eleven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and very special friends that she cherished dearly.
She has been a member of the First Church of the Nazarene since April 1967, where she served on the church board, taught Sunday School and was a Greeter every Sunday morning for many years, which was her favorite thing to do
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 between11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Missions Department – First Church of the Nazarene
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time. Please feel free to sign the online guestbook or send a private condolence message through our website.
