Junior Burnett was born May 5, 1946, and departed this life Friday, March 8, 2024, reaching the age of 77 years. He was the son of the late Cleo Rector and Beulah Burnett. He married Marilyn Sue Corder on June 8, 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Burnett; siblings, Mary Kidd, Betty (Lewis) Decker, David (Cheryl) Burnett, Leta Piercy, and Dovie (Ron) Jones; special children, Jessica (Josh) Hancock, Leslie (Brandon) Lester, special grandchildren, Bo Lester, Dalton Hancock, Kaleb Hancock, Corbyn Lester, and Duncan Lester; along with a host of nieces and nephews, too many to count but will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Cleo Rector and Beulah Marie Burnett, he was preceded in death by siblings, Johnnie Burnett, Alta Lewis, Nancy Haynes, Imogene Critchlow, Martha Sue Neal, and Vela Burnett.

Junior joined Bethel Baptist Church at age 16 and was a lifetime member.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, between 11 am - 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 1 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
