'Leila Beatrice Burke Rice age 94 was born January 11, 1916 in the Griffin community of Wayne County the daughter of the late Lincoln and Evaline Foister Burke. She departed this life, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.She was united in marriage with Grant Case Rice who passed away April 21, 1981. To this 52 year union three children survive; David K. Rice of Ft. Worth, Texas, Patsy R. Bates of Midway, Kentucky and Myson C. Rice of Monticello. Her children, Cheryl Fletcher, Gary B. Rice and Frank Donelly Rice precedes her in death.Also surviving are her grandchildren; Stacie Rice Bates Rumpke, David Shane Rice, Richard Grant Rice, John Louis Bates, Adam Case Rice, Myson Seth Rice, Noah Charles Rice, Matthew Preston Rice and Joseph Eric Rice; great grandchildren, Amy Rice, Ben Rice, Hank Rumpke, Layne Rumpke, Pete Rumpke, August Grant Rumpke, John Morgan Bates, Sarah Jane Elizabeth Bates, Cainen Rice, Grant Rice, Chloye Rice, Addison Rice, Cayleb Rice and her sister, Violet Daniels.She is preceded in death by her sister, Vena Perkins, and brothers, Roy, Bill, Ralph and Ray Burke.Mrs. Rice had accepted Christ as her Savior as a young lady and was a member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church.
