Lena Jane Burks­­­­­­­­­­ was born August 22, 1941, and departed this life on Sunday, July 19, 2026, reaching the age of 84 years. She was the daughter of the late Leean Lawson Abbott and Albert “Abb” Abbott.

She is survived by one sister who is the last of seven children, Grace Dulong Baker, of Okeechobee, Florida. Along with many nieces, nephews, family, friends, and neighbors on Greenbriar Road to mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jack Burks; two brothers, General Joe Adams (Juanita), and Glenn Abbott (Lucy); three sisters, Marie Troxell (Jessie), Kay Bowling (Kenneth), and Sue Owens (Alvin).

During her life she had many job titles. She worked as a Real Estate Broker, Factory owner, Managed Dollar General, and at Belden's. Her favorite hobby was sewing.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church for many years. When she was no longer able to drive, she went with Kelvin Upchurch on the bus or with Ina Cooper. She loved attending church services.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 11 AM – 1 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 1 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Bethesda Cemetery.
