Lillian Smith was born September 15, 1932, and departed this life Friday, July 12, 2024, reaching the age of 91 years. She was the daughter of the late Menville and Flonnie (Dobbs) Hughes.

She married Niles Delmar Smith on March 10, 1951, and to this union two children were born.

She is survived by: two children, Elsie Jones (Tony) and Gary Smith (Mitzi); grandchildren, Kevin and Delana Crabtree, Jason Smith and April Young (David); and great grandchildren, Keelan and Kiran Rodriguez; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Menville and Flonnie Hughes, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Niles Smith; and her sisters, Carolyn Koger, Letha Catron, Lela Neal, Doris Brewster, Ina Pyles, and Alta Edwards.

Lillian was a member at Taylor's Grove Baptist Church but later attended Bread of Life Baptist Church.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, 2024, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 12 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
