'Lizzie Marie Pitman was born February 23, 1930 in Wayne County to the late Wolford and Roxie Daniel Steele and departed this life Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Wayne County Hospital reaching the age of eighty four years.

She united in marriage to Floyd Pitman and to this union nine children survive; Fronnia Swift, Linda and husband Bro. Clifford Tucker, Mary Woods, Georgia Pitman, Connie and husband David Crabtree, Jim and wife June, Ronnie and wife Faye, Tom and wife Marsha and Hobert and wife Lois Pitman along with sisters; Betty Matthews and Mary Ruth Powell and brothers; Carl and Mack Steele along with twenty grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son; Chester Pitman and siblings; Alice, Linda, Ray, Paul and Golman Steele, her son-in-law Leman Swift and her great grandson Alex Cody Hollars.

As a young lady she accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and later moved her membership to the Elk Ridge Baptist Church where she remained faithful as long as her health permitted. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends that loved her so much.
