'Lonnie Lee Carrender New Hardwick, age 91 was born in Wayne County, January 14, 1918 the daughter of the late James C. and Emily Tuttle Carrender. She departed this life Sunday, June 28th at the Wayne County Hospital after an extended illness.

She was united in marriage with George Smiley New who passed away in 1949. She later married Ola Hardwick who passed away in 1982.

Surviving are three daughters, Bonnie and her husband Billy Ray Rigney; Ina and her husband Richard Herbert Upchurch; Katie New and David Sullivan; and her son Kenny and his wife Barbara Bell.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; with several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Mrs. Hardwick was the youngest of twelve children and the last survivor of the James C. Carrender Family. Also preceding her in death is nine grandchildren a great grandchild.

She had accepted Christ as Lord and was a member of the South Main Baptist Church at the time of her passing.
