'Lorene Jones Miller Davis, age 74 passed away Thursday, August 11th at the Wayne County Hospital. She was born on December 9th, 1936 to the late Rev. Ora and Dina Corder Jones. She was preceded in death by her husbands Bobby Miller and Ralph Davis. She is survived by two brothers; James Wiley and Willard Jones and three sisters; Fayrene Meadors, Josephene Cooper and Edna Lee Frost. Lorene is also survived by three step children; James Ralph Davis, Lowell Davis and Kathy Pickrell.

She has fourteen nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and nephews and one nephew who preceded her in death. She also has six step grandchildren.

Lorene taught school for thirty years, belonged to the quilt guild and was a member of the Monticello Museum Board. She had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. Her love for the Lord allowed her to be a great testimony to all.

Along with her positive attitude toward having cancer, she was a great witness and inspiration to everyone. She is known for her sunny disposition, her friendly smile and her care and concern for others. Everyone who knew her had enormous respect and love for her. Her example is one to follow.

She will be sadly missed by all relatives and friends!
