'Loretta Upchurch McWhorter was born January 15, 1946 the daughter of the late Teddy and Alene Chriswell Upchurch. She departed this life Friday evening, June 30th Baptist Health Lexington reaching an age of 71 years.

On August 1, 1963, she united in marriage with Pentic McWhorter Jr. who passed away July 3, 1991. To this union four children survive: Lois Ann and husband Ervin Rose, Jody and husband Web Upchurch, Prentis and his wife Melissa McWhorter and Thomas McWhorter. Two children: Joy Lee and Linda Faye McWhorter passed away in 1971 as result of a house fire.

Also surviving are her grandchildren: Cortney (Travis) Flowers, Amber (Justin) Thomason, Ashley Rose (Jim Harper), McKenzie, Carlie and Clay Upchurch, Malachi and Mathias McWhorter, Taylor, Kaydynce and Raylyn McWhorter; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Zoey, Miley, Cade and Paisley; siblings: Jeanette Decker, Ruth Volz, Sue Earlywine, Betty Jean Carpenter, Joyce Cooper, Martha Hendrix, Kenneth, Willard and Carl Bruce Upchurch.

She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Gene, Stella, Edna Mae, Carolyn and Robert Lee Upchurch.

Loretta had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of Whisper Pines Worship.
