Obituary
'Lucy Mae Back Breeding was born December 5th, 1915 the daughter of the late William Martin and Mary Goddard Back. She departed this life Thursday, August 23, at the Golden Years Nursing Home after an extended illness.
On June 14, 1946 she united in marriage with Bill Breeding, who survives. To this 61 year union two sons survive; Dr. William G. and his wife Sue Breeding and Dr. Martin and his wife Linda Breeding all of Monticello. Surviving are two grandchildren, Mary Garnett Breeding and William Harris Breeding both attending college.
Also surviving is her sister, Laura Back Ford of Louisville, Kentucky; her brothers, Sidney K. Back of Barbourville, Kentucky and Dr. Joe Back of Monticello.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Alta Lusk, Jack W. Back and Martin Thomas -Tom- Back.
Mrs. Breeding was a retired teacher from the Monticello Independent School system, where she taught high school English and Literature. She was also a lifetime member of the Monticello First Christian Church.
The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at the First Christian Church with Bro. Mel Gresham officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or The First Christian Church.
