'Lucy Mary Weaver Mercer was born, January 17, 1924, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Mattie Roberts Weaver. She departed this life, Wednesday, February 3rd, at the Golden Years Nursing Home after an extended illness.

She was united in marriage with John Allen Mercer who passed away June 11, 1967. Surviving are two children: Patty Keith and Jabbo Wainwright and his wife Frances Mercer both of Monticello. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Also surviving are grandchildren: Robin Dishman, Wayne Allen Mercer, Michael Mercer and Emily Cox and great grandchildren: Jordan, Austin, John, Richard, Lauren and Allen.

Lucy was the last surviving member of the Grover Weaver family. She is preceded in death by her siblings: Ora Marcum, Susie Hutchison, Joe, Frank and Junior Weaver.

As a young lady she accepted Christ as her Savior and became a lifetime member of the New Salem Baptist Church.
