Obituary
'Lydia Fairchild Vire, age 95was born October 12, 1921 the daughter of the late Sam and Florida Fairchild of the Sumpter community.
On December 31, 1944, she united in marriage with her husband Harold Vire who precedes her in death.
Surviving is her daughter, Sylvia Harris of Louisville and her son, Stephen and his wife Dianne Vire of Nashville, Tennessee; her grandchildren: Holly Crady, Ryan Harris, Michael Vire and Daniel Vire; and step grandchildren; Jennifer Brown and Kristin Duke and eleven great grandchildren.
Lydia was the last surviving member of the Sam and Florida Fairchild family.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she has served in many capacities: Sunday School Teacher, member of the Chior, WMU Director and served ten years as WMU Director of the Wayne County WMU.
