'Lyle passed away at home on Monday, March 31st, 2014. He was born on August 7th, 1932 in Powersburg, KY to his loving parents, Melvin Earnest and Bonnie Marie Guffey.

Lyle married Mary Ellen Neal on October 31st, 1949 in Hidalgo, KY, where they lived for a short time before moving to Central Indiana, where they lived the rest of their lives. Their true love was a testament to all people who met them. They were married for 64 - wonderful, precious years.

Lyle is survived by his daughter Jo-Ann and husband Bruce and his son Jeff and wife Linda, four grandchildren, and 14 fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Guffey; mother, Bonnie Marie Guffey; father, Melvin Earnest Guffey; brother, Harold Dean Guffey; three sisters, Mildred Adriene Guffey, Barbara Sue Guffey, Carol June Simpson; and grandson, Jeffery Scott Guffey.

At the time of his death, Lyle was a long-standing member of the Little Zion United Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Lyle was a tool and die maker by trade. He loved gardening and working in his yard, reading and studying his bible, and loved to take videos and pictures. He enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as his church family. Lyle loved the Lord with all of his mind and heart! He was a song leader at his church, a Sunday school teacher, a Sunday school superintendent, and a church planter.
