'Mae Fern Coley Hickey was born in Pike County, May 30th, 1928 the daughter of the late Elijah and Susie Coley. She departed this life Friday afternoon, June 14th, at her home.
She was united in marriage with Hoyt G. Hickey Sr. who survives. To this 64 year union two children survive: Glenn and his wife Sheila Hickey and Jane and her husband Tim Hopper.
Also surviving are her grandchildren: H.G. and wife Ashley Hickey, Adam and wife Sarah Hopper, Megan Hickey and Maggie Hopper, a great granddaughter, Makayla; her sisters: Peggy Chaney and Carol Smith and brothers: Jack and Whick Coley.
She is preceded in death by her sister: Violet Lowe and brothers: Murley, Darrell and Harold Coley.
Along with her husband they founded the Hickey \u0026 Son Funeral Home in Monticello in 1953. She was devoted to her church, Monticello First Baptist, her concern for young people caused her to spend many years in both Boy and Girl Scouts.
