'Marsha Allene Grier, of Wetumpka, AL (formerly of Monticello, KY) entered into eternal life on May 2nd, 2014 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL. Born September 17, 1955 to Marshall and Vera Kennedy, as the oldest of six children: Susan Burkhead (who precedes her in death), Bobby Kennedy, Darlene Kennedy, Ida Dean and Brian Kennedy, Marsha spent her life gaining the love and friendships of everyone who had the pleasure to meet her.
Marsha married Waymon Edwards on January 4th 1974 and to this union, gained four daughters: Connie Stinson, Karen Stephenson, Kathy Gregory and Carol Stinson, all of Monticello. Marsha and Waymon were then blessed with two sons, Lyle James Edwards of Alabama and Kyle Edwards (who precedes her in death).
Marsha and Waymon were also blessed with four grandchildren, Jacinda Gossage, Derick Stephenson, David Stinson II and Justin Atkinson, and six great-grandchildren, Macy, Isaiah, Ava, Stephen Parker, Conner and Kaleb.
Upon Waymon's passing in 1997, Marsha eventually relocated to Alabama where she worked as a caregiver for elderly patients. Her time in Alabama, led her to meet and fall in love with George Grier. They were united in marriage on March 28, 2002 and have happily resided in Wetumpka, AL ever since.
Her work as one of the charter members of the Monticello DAV Auxiliary, all of the children that she babysat, and her time spent as a caregiver for the elderly, attest to just how much her heart was dedicated to taking care of others. To those who knew her, she will always be remembered as a'one-of a kind,' Granny and Memmie. She was one of the most special women that the Lord has graced this Earth with and though there are many broken hearts with her passing, she is now rejoicing in Heaven with all the loved ones with whom she has now been reunited.
