'Martha Jeanette Hicks Baird, age 93 was born March 3, 1922 in Newcomb, Tennessee the daughter of the late Maynard and China Braden Hicks. She departed this life Saturday afternoon, May 2nd, at the Golden Years Nursing Home.

She was united in marriage with Howard Baird who passed away January 7, 2009. To this union four children survive: Phyllis Boston, Gladys Mullins, David Baird and Richard Baird. She was preceded in death by infant twins: Henry Lee and Assa Lee Baird.

Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; her sister, Bernice Williams with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: Tilda Nunnally, Bertha Rains, Bessie Baird, Lou Creekmore, Fronia Douglas, Thelma Anderson, Warren, Charles, Martin, Harry, Kay and Herbert Hicks; her twin sister, Mary Hicks, and a grandchild.
