'Mary Jane Davis Steele, age 67 was born in the Susie community of Wayne County, November 1st, 1941, the daughter of the late Dorothy Mae Goodman Davis and Bro. Local Davis. Mary ended her battle with cancer Saturday, February 7th at her home.

On April 11, 1959 she united in marriage with her husband of 37 years, Troy Steele who passed away January 15th, 1996. To this union two daughters survive; Gina Dishman and Lisa Steele.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Brianna Jane and Kimberly Lynn Hoover , : her sister Bonnie Bell and brothers, Carlos and Billy Davis.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Ned and Junior Davis.

Mary was retired from the Monticello School System and was a member of the Old Union Separate Baptist Church.
