'Mary Gladys Bertram Twyford was born in Wayne County, October 22, 1908 the daughter of the late Sterlie and Lillian Kennedy Bertram. She departed this life Monday morning, January 19th, at the Golden Years Nursing Home after an extended illness reaching an age of 100 years.

She was united in marriage with William Bryan Twyford who passed away, February 21, 1959. To this union two children survive; Mary Brian and her husband Melvin McFarland and Bill Fred and his wife Wanda Twyford both of Monticello.

Also surviving are two grandchildren, Dr. Ronald and his wife Mary Ellen McFarland and Cynthia and her husband Vito Manente; Great grandchildren, Ross, Todd, Scott and Chris McFarland, Andrew, Benjamin and Caroline Manente; Two great-great-grandchildren, Devin and Kadyn McFarland; her sister Cristell Work and brother, Ansel Bertram.

She is preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Brittany Manente and siblings; Ruby Bertram, Mary Bertram, Dennis Bertram, Mabel Powell, Vena Morgan, Lyle Bertram, Carl Bertram, Doris Gregory, Jewell Corder, Paul Bertram and Theresa Bertram.

Mrs. Twyford loved being on the farm close to God-s creation. She was the last surviving charter member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Later she moved her membership to the First Baptist Church; where she faithfully taught Sunday School and worked endlessly in the WMU.

Monday from 5 to 9 and Tuesday from 9 to 11 at the Church

Funeral:
11 AM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church
