'Maudie Evelee Martin Godsey, was born July 29, 1923 the daughter of the late Dennis and Beatrice Taylor Martin. She departed this life Thursday morning, July 15th at the Wayne County Hospital after a long struggle with Alzheimer-s.

She was united in marriage with George Ile Godsey who passed away November 25, 2005. To this union four children survive; Marie and her husband Lewis East of Monticello, Alfred and his wife Joyce Godsey of Bedford, Indiana, Stella and her husband Dennis Coffey of Monticello and Billy Gene and his wife Juanita Godsey of Monticello.

Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren with a host of nieces nephews other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

She was the last surviving member of the Dennis Martin family being preceded in death by her sister, Grace and brothers Roy, Hubert, James and Leland Martin.

Mrs. Godsey had accepted Christ as her Savior as a young lady and was a member of the Clay Hill Baptist Church.
