Michael T. Foster was born on June 17, 1961, in Monticello, Kentucky, and passed away on July 25, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky, at the age of 65.
He is survived by Tracy Smith Foster, the love of his life, whom he married on July 1, 1989. He is also survived by two sons, James Michael (Tiffany) and Robert Gregory (Libby); one daughter, Sami (Mike); and one grandson, Dresden, who called him Pop-Pop.
Michael is also survived by three brothers, Larry (Robbin), Timothy (Sheila), and Richard Martin (Delynna); one sister, Vicky (Jim Wingerter); one sister-in-law, JoAnn Lemaster Foster; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Foster and Phyllis Phillips Foster Martin; his stepfather, Luid Martin; one brother, Jeff; and one brother-in-law, Mike Smith.
He joined Freedom Baptist Church and was baptized in 1968. He retired from Toyota in Georgetown, Kentucky, after 27 years of service.
He enjoyed the outdoors, nature, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was involved with Scouting America in Lexington, Kentucky, for more than 20 years, working with Pack Troop #98 and Venture Crew, and serving as Scoutmaster for several years.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 31, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday morning and continue until the funeral hour of 12:00 p.m. at Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Foster-Clark Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Michael T. Foster may be made to Rosemont Baptist Church for its Scouting programs, including Troop 98, at 556 Rosemont Garden, Lexington, KY 40503, or to Hospice.
Hickey Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky, is in charge of arrangements.
