Mildred Alene Cowan Coffey gained her wings on the morning of March 24 ^th , 2022, reaching the age of 68 years.

Mildred was born on May 24 ^th , 1953, to George A. and Nina Mae Cowan of the Frazer Community. She was a member of the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. She also retired from the Monticello Banking company after 34 years of service.

Mildred enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson. She like cooking and eating with her family on Sunday afternoons. She also enjoyed going to church and attending revivals. She collected cookbooks and in addition to yard sales, she loved going to Goodwill, bin stores and bundles.

Mildred was preceded in death by her father, George Cowan, her sisters Hazel, and Evana Jo Cowan, as well as her infant nephew James Perkins III.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 46 years; Lemuel Coffey, one daughter; Deanna (Calvin) Patton, one grandson; Caleb Patton of Hebron, Ky, as well as her mother Nina Cowan, brothers; George "Buddy" and Mitchell Cowan, sisters Frances (Kay) Allen, Alice Perkins, Phyllis Cowan, and Ada (Jeff) Waddle, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 28 ^th from 11AM until 1PM in the funeral home chapel with funeral services following at 1PM. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church Cemetery at Frazer.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
