Milton Gene Barnett's Obituary
'Milton Gene Barnett was born November 4, 1937 the son of the late Rufus and Lillian Powell Barnett. He departed this life, Saturday, August 29, 2014 at Baptist Health of Lexington, reaching an age of 77 years.
On September 26, 1959 he united with his wife of 56 years, Mildred Mae Thompson Barnett who survives. Surviving this union are two sons: Allen and Gerald Barnett.
Also surviving are grandson: Eric Wayne and Kyler Lucas Barnett and great grandson Hunter Wayne Barnett; his sister, Eleanor Smith and brother; Ovid Thompson.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Velma Trueblood, Vivian Popplewell, Mildred Carroll and Elburn Barnett and an infant sister, Barbara Barnett.
Gene had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a lifetime member of the Elk Ridge Baptist Church with he served his church as Deacon.
