'Nannie Lillian Upchurch Slagle was born in Wayne County August 16, 1933 the daughter of the late Oliver and Etta Dishman Upchurch. She departed this life, Saturday afternoon, June 22 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital reaching an age of 85 Years.
She united in marriage with Lee Slagle and to this union five children survive: Paul and his wife Donna Slagle, Carl and wife Leanne Slagle, Darlene and husband Kevyn Hendsbee, Dennis Slagle and Teresa and husband Carter Burnett.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Myla and Micha Neal, Jeremy Slagle, Travis (Jennifer) York, Emily Frye and Kyle (Samantha) Burnett; great grandchildren: Carmine Sebastian, Jaxon and Hayden; and siblings: Junior Upchurch and Christine Hutchison.
She is preceded in death by her siblings: Eula Ford, Jewell Neal, Hershel, Guy and Cosby Upchurch.
Mrs. Slagle worked for many years in the local clothing industry as a seamstress. She had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Ole Union Separate Baptist Church. Lillian loved working her flower gardens and was know for her quilt making.',
