'Nell Lucille Chriswell Stephens, age 81 was born September 17, 1929 the daughter of the late Harve and Ethel Richardson Chriswell. She departed this life Saturday morning, April 16th at the Golden Years Nursing home surrounded by her family.She is survived by three children: Merlane and her husband Davide Jones; Charlotte and her husband Boyd Morrow and Jerry and his wife Diane Barnett. Her son Howard precedes her in death,Also surviving are her six grandchildren: Sonya McCauley. Delanna Stephens, Justin Thomason, Derek Barnett, Jason Barnett and Lisa Barnett. Surviving are her great grandchildren: Amanda, Jessica, Colton, Christian, Jenna and Ian and her great-great-granddaughter, Adison. Surviving siblings include: Adell O-Day, Chris Klein and Audre Chriswell.She is preceded in death by her brothers: Clifford, Bernard and Gifford Chriswell: and her sisters: Inez Crabtree and Ada Silva.As a young woman and mother she was a very hard worker on the farm and in public employment. Later in life after her health began to fail she dealt in yard sales and sold used furniture and household goods. Most of all she loved the people stopping by to see her and spend time talking with her. In later years she took up needle work and quilting, wearing out many, many thimbles.
