'Obie Emerson Meredith, was born January 27, 1929 in Wayne County, the son of the late Bill and Myrtle Morris Meredith. He passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital reaching an age of 88 years.

He was united in marriage with Maggie Mae Shelton Meredith who survives. To this union six children survive: Mary Rose Bell, Mazie and her husband Jimmy K. Troxell, John Ted and wife Amber Meredith, Daisy and her husband James Floyd, Carolyn and husband Eugene Moore and Donald Meredith.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild with many nieces, nephews, other relative and friends to mourn his passing.

Obie was the last surviving member of the Bill and Myrtle Meredith family.

Obie had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Sandusky Chapel Baptist Church.
