'Patty Michelle (Chriswell) Bell was born August 1, 1964 in New Castle, Indiana, the daughter of the late Walter and Marie (Marcum) Chriswell. She passed away Saturday evening, October 10, 2015 at the Wayne County Hospital reaching an age of 51 years.
On June 13, 1978, at the age of 13, she met and fell in love with Doug Bell. On July 22, 1998 she married the love of her life. Although they were not blessed with children of their own God placed her in a job with the Wayne County School system, where she retired after 14 ½ years. Patty had the knowledge of braille and was blessed to work with two visually impaired children from the 2nd grade until their graduation. She considered these two children as her own, but loved all the students she came in contact with.
She is survived by her husband Doug Bell, her God-Parents Wayne and Ruth Boyd of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; Her mother-in-law, Betty Bell; Two sisters: Ina (George) Neal of Muncie, Indiana and Sue Troxell of New Castle, Indiana; like a brother to her: Danny (Berdonna) Marcum; brother in law, Ralph and Brenda Turner. Also surviving are four nieces: Kim Kemper of Eaton, Indiana, Stacy (Terry) Smith of Selma, Indiana, Amy Troxell of New Castle, Indiana and Jennifer (David) Stearns of North Carolina, Five nephews: Jeff (Tammy) Neal of Muncie, Indiana; Darin (Chasidy) Chriswell, Stuart (Donyale) Chriswell, Tyler (Aubree) Chriswell and Shawn Turner all of Monticello; Eleven great-nieces: Kate Smith, Kyle (Mike) McKnight, Sara(Chris) Adams, Kacy (Steven) Stone, Erin (Scott) Richardson, Holly (Joe) Mosier all of Indiana, Kelsay Stearns of North Carolina, Maddy Royalty, Brylee Chriswell, Kim Burchett and Natalie Turner all of Monticello, Brennan and Braylon Chriswell, Ethan Royalty all of Monticello and Zachary Kemper of Eaton, Indiana; Seven great-great nieces: Gracie Boatman, Kaileigh, Alexys Clifford, Nicale Neal, Ariana Adams, McKenzy Stone and Addison Mosier all of Indiana; Eight great-great nephews: Bradley and Charley Richardson, Michael Neal, Nic Flook, Marcus Stone Neal, Sam Mosier and Lane Kemper all of Indiana.
She is preceded in death by both her parents: Walter and Marie Chriswell; her father-in-law: Lester Bell; one brother: Hearld Chriswell; two great-great nieces: Miley Stone and Elizabeth Mosier; two brothers-in-law: Elvin Troxell of Indiana and Bobby Lee Chriswell of Monticello; her sister-in-law: Lois Ann Chriswell of Monticello and several aunts and uncles. `
Patty was a faithful member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
