'Paul Edwin Brown was born February 5, 1948 in the Windy community of Wayne County, to the late Edwin McGhee Brown and Elma Brewster Brown who survives. He passed from this life on Tuesday, November 8th, at the age of 63.
Paul married Kathy Diane Jones at Rogers Grove Baptist Church on July 5th, 1968. In the years that followed they were blessed with two sons: Leslie Paul and Joseph Lynn, two daughters-in-law, Cynthia (Cindy) and Letitia and four grandchildren: Shelby Grace, Emily Jo, Cory Joseph and Caden Isaac.
As a young man Paul served his country in the Army National Guard, and he was part of the business community in Wayne County most of his life: he and Kathy established and operated K&P Grocery for several years, and he worked at the Home Builders Do-It-Center until his retirement for health reasons in December of 1998.
Since his retirement, Paul had immersed himself in his love of Classic cars, antiques and collectables and the music of his favorite era in human history- the 1950's and 60's. He masterfully brought all his interests together in two of his greatest projects- his immaculate garage (often mistaken for a gas station, a soda shop and/or a museum) and the The Record Shop, a business by which he collected and sold music on vinyl via the internet and the flea market locations he maintained in Somerset.
If you knew Paul Brown, though, you knew that his greatest loves in life were his family and friends, Rogers Grove Baptist Church and his God. Paul served the church and his Lord as a deacon, a song leader, and Sunday School teacher and superintendent. He lived his faith, he loved to laugh and was a most excellent PaPaw.
Whenever our family is together from now on, we're going to miss so very much Paul's easy, offbeat humor, those sweet, sheepish grins and the genuine, gentle love that was such a part of him. But his Lord is already comforting us with lovely memories of those times past, and with the real and blessed hope of a happier time we'll have with him again.
