'Ray E. Dishman, was born in the Slickford community of Wayne Count September 22, 1925 the son of the late Obie Fount and Fleetie Owens Dishman. He passed away Monday, June 13th at the Golden Years Nursing Home reaching an age of 90 years.
On March 7, 1947 he united in marriage with Beatrice McGinnis Dishman who survives. To this 69-year union four sons survive: Dan (Ida), Frank (Linda), Menvil(Susan), and David Dishman.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one sister: Della Dishman and two brothers: Roger and Amos Dishman.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Alice Dishman and brother, Harlan Dishman.
Ray worked for several years in telephone line construction and retired from the Beldon Wire and Cable Company. More importantly he was a lifelong member of the Old Union Separate Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for over 50 years.
