Rina Kay Bell, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on April 27, 1946, the daughter of Fletcher and Rosa Bell Gregory.
She was united in marriage to Kermit Howard Hancock on May 10, 1972; and they spent 33 wonderful years together until his death in 2005. Together, they raised two daughters: Pam and Roxanne. In 2008 she was united in marriage to Robert Bell, and they enjoyed many years together until her passing.
She is survived by her husband: Robert Bell; Two Daughters- Pam (Gene) Taylor and Roxanne (Paul) Stringer; Two Sisters- Casteline Gregory and Dororthy Foster; One Brother- Robert W. Tucker; Four Grandchildren- Lucas (Jennifer) Taylor, Samantha (Kyle) Burnett, Emily (Jordan) Allen and Hannah (Travis) Pace; Eight Great-Grandchildren- Brianna (Alan) Brown, Ethan Taylor, Jace Taylor, Khloe Allen, Avery Allen, Connor Pace, John Pace and Callie Ann Pace; Two Great-Great grandchildren- Rhett Brown and Ryker Brown, along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was also proceeded in death by One Sister- Helen Deanie Shelton and Two Brothers- Jim Gregory and Kenneth Gregory Bailey.
Kay was always a hard-worker and devoted many years caring for others. She was a wonderful cook, and anyone who was fortunate enough to sit at her table always left with a full stomach, a full heart and most likely a plate of leftovers. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and everyone always looked forward to the day when Grandma's garden was ready. In addition, she loved sewing, and was particularly accomplished at quilting. Over the years, she made and gave away countless quilts to family and friends.
Kay loved the Lord and had a deep faith in God. She spent much of her life studying God's word and praying for others. She always enjoyed sharing what she learned from studying the Bible, and she helped instill in her family a love of God and the importance of living a life of faith in Jesus. She also loved her family deeply and was always so proud of her children and grandchildren. More than anything else, she loved spending time together as a family.
Kay was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her, but the wonderful memories of her remain.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 5-8 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 1PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
