Robert (Bobby)Lafayette Brown

Bobby passed away at the Wayne County Hospital the morning of August 2nd 2022.

Bobby was born on June 30, 1934 at Touristville, Kentucky.  He was the son of Luid Estil (LE) and Laura Dunagun Brown.  Bobby graduated from Wayne County High School in 1952.  He joined the United States Navy in September of 1955.

Bobby had 4 siblings; Mary Ruth Weaver (Somerset), Kathleen Campbell (Kenneth), Emery Brown (Margaret), and Betty Wright (Gene "Cedarhead") all from Monticello.

After an honorable discharge in 1957 (due to the death of his father) he came home to marry Shirley Massengale Brown in 1958.  Born unto this union were two children Robert LE Brown and Micah Brown Hicks (Stuart).  Bobby and Shirley have five grandchildren, Jenessa Brown (Landon), Leandra Brown, Zachary Hicks, Landry Brown, and Sydney Hicks.

Bobby was a faithful member and a deacon at Steubenville Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his church family. He received Christ as his Savior as a young man. Before retirement Bobby was a farmer and worked at State Farm Insurance Agency in Monticello. Bobby's most enjoyable days were spent with his family and his friends. He loved gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 5 ^th from 10AM until 2PM in the funeral home chapel with funeral services following at 2PM. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Bobby's family would appreciate donations to go to AWANA at Steubenville Baptist Church or to the cabin rebuilding project at Mountain View Baptist Camp.
