'Roosevelt Roberts was born October 14, 1932 in the Slavens community of McCreary County, the son of the late Joe and Emma Coffey Roberts. He departed this life, Saturday evening at his home in the Bronston community reaching an age of 79 years.

On September 5, 1958 he united in marriage with Virginia Sue Kidd Roberts, who survives. To this union three daughters survive: Cindy and her husband Randy Baker; Tina and husband Byron Blevins and Vicky and her husband Ron Hart.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Samuel Wayne Catron; Whitney Nicole Browning; Nathan Lewis Catron; Isaac Jordan Hart; Jeremy Christopher Hart; Tyler Ray Blevins and Elijah Wayne Hart. Surviving are his sisters: Clara Jones; Nellie Foster and Barbara Gregory and his brother: Hobert Roberts.

He is preceded in death by his sisters: Kathleen Burke and June Foster and his brothers: Jack and David Roberts.

Roosevelt worked for TVA until his health would not allow it. He had accepted Christ as a young many and became a lifetime member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
