'Roscoe Rose, age 84, was born in the Brammer Ridge community of Wayne County October 12, 1924 the son of the late Loss and Mary Etta Kidd Rose. He departed this life Wednesday evening, June 17th at the Wayne County Hospital.

He was united in marriage with Luverine New Rose who passed away January 17th, 1999. To this union eleven children survive; Jimmy Rose, James Edward Rose, Willis Dean Rose, Katherine Tucker, Norma Abbott, Darrell Rose, Delmas Rose, Richard Rose, Irvin Rose, Shirley Phillips and Karen Morrow.

Also surviving are 39 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, 21 step great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and three sisters, Goldie Morrow, Bessie Morrow and Adel Ramsey with many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

He is preceded in death by three grandchildren, three sisters; Eva New, Viola Hammond and infant sister Bertha Rose, and brothers, Clarence, Roy, Chester, Ottis and Leslie Rose.

Roscoe had accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and was a lifelong member of the Zion Baptist Church where he served his Lord as Deacon.
