'Ruby Jane Thompson New, was born April 21, 1943 the daughter of the late Austin and Maggie Denney Thompson. She departed this life Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Golden Years Nursing Home, reaching an age of 71 years.

On February 4, 1961 she united in marriage with James Willard New, who survives. To this 53 year union three children survive: Barbara Rose, Darrell and his wife Patsy New and Coletta and her husband Jeff Edwards.

Also surviving are four grandchildren: Diane Edwards, Chandra Caldwell (Josh), Jeff Edwards Jr (Natalie), James Rose; her great grandson; Logan Burnett and sisters: Mildred and Stella Barnett.

As a young lady she had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Elk Ridge Baptist Church.
