'Ruth Roberts Powell age 82 was born in the Zabez community of Wayne County, September 3, 1929 the daughter of the late Arnie Roberts and Laura Amanda -Daudie- Turner. She passed away Thursday afternoon, April 26th at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after an extended illness.

On September 27th, 1947 she united in marriage with Bro. Harold E. Powell who passed away April 20th, 2005. To this union one daughter survives: Sharon and her husband David Bertram along with one granddaughter: Kinly Jean-Rose Bertram.

Also surviving is one half-brother: Lee Alvin Roberts.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: Treva Gossage Winchester; Hubert Gossage; Winifred Gossage Brummett; Grace Roberts; Oscar Phalas Roberts; Leslie Roberts and Norma Roberts.

Mrs Powell had accepted Christ as her Savior and was devoted, supportive Pastors wife serving in the churches and communities the Lord would call them into. All the while working as a cook and seamstress. Mrs. Powell was a faithful member of the Monticello First Baptist Church as long as her health would permit her.
