'Ruth Alexander Turpin , age 86, was born in the Oil Valley Community of Wayne County, June 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Obie and Sallie Perkins Alexander. She departed this life, Sunday morning, May 11th at the McCreary health and Rehabilitation Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky

She was united marriage with Elisha Turpin who passed away, September 28, 1976. Surviving are her children; Bruce and his wife Gwynne Alexander; Robert and his wife Brenda Turpin, John, James and Wayne Turpin, Patricia and her husband Leroy Lay.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Tina Rigney, Bruce Alexander Jr, Brandon McClain, Jackie Nevels, Elisha Turpin, William Turpin, Jessica Turpin, Tyler and Trent lay; six great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Velma Alexander with several nieces, nephews other relative and many friends to mourn her passing.

Ruth was the last surviving member of the Obie Alexander family. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Irene Young, Clarence Alexander, Cecil Alexander and Ina Coffey.

She had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a faithful member of the Fall Creek Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

The funeral service was held Wednesday morning in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dewey Burks officiating, Burial in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
