Sam David Brown Jr., 98, passed away Thursday January 9, 2025, at Norton's Hospital.

Sam was born on March 8, 1926, to the late Sam Sr. and Nettie (Neeley) Brown of Luretha, KY. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Sam was the owner of Sam's Car Wash for 30 years.

Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Flora (Hutchinson) Brown, children Dianne Bates and Tami Brown; brothers Claude, Becham, Charlie, Floyd, Starlin, Bob, Roy Brown; sisters Hattie Heaton, Zelma Carrigan, Ethel Brown, Chloe Brown, and Beulah Lewis.

Survived by his companion Betty Burkhead; children Beverly Gover (Roger), Michael David Brown Sr. (Christie) and Vickie Thieneman; grandchildren Douglas Elliott (Lisa), Julie Carter (Jarrod), Michael Brown Jr. (Kara), Scott Thieneman and T.J. Thieneman, Bryan Bates (Jen); great grandchildren Gabrielle Baker, Alex Elliott, Kierstin Elliott, Miya Elliott, Avery Carter, Emery Carter, Saylor Brown; sister-in-law Melinda Hutchison, a host of family and friends that loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5402 Hwy 1275 N., Monticello, Kentucky 42633.

Graveside service will be Friday January 17, 2025, at 1:00pm New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
