'Sara Belle Foley Upchurch was born on April 5th, 1946 in Wayne County to the late George and Jean Pogue Foley. She passed away Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset reaching an age of seventy-one years.
\tOn June 16th 1962 she united in marriage to Hiram Upchurch Jr., who precedes her in death. To this union four children survive: Suzanne Upchurch Bell (Jerry Neal), Allyson Upchurch Tucker (Russell), Webb Upchurch (Jody), and Blake Upchurch. Her grandchildren; Sloane Marcum, Tyler (Veronica) Bell, Hailee Neal, Bryson Tucker, Jase Tucker, Kenzie Upchurch, Carlie Upchurch, and Clay Upchurch. Her great grandchildren: Dawson Marcum, Belle Marcum, Maddie Marcum, Kolton Marcum, and Lily Bell.
\tAlso surviving are her siblings: Donna Sue Abbott, Cathy Weston, Betsey Foley, Gary Foley, Lynn Foley, Lisa Harper, Rebecca Mullins, Jeannie Morrow, and Philip Foley, along with many nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents: SR and Sarah McHargue Foley, EW and Belle Marsh Pogue.
Sara was a proud member of many organizations including The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Historical Society, and several genealogical societies. She loved to cook and collect recipes, as well as travel, where over the course of her life visited 49 states, including driving to Alaska 4 different times. Sara was the pianist at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for many years as well as a Sunday school teacher. She also played the piano for the Zion Singers. Sara had accepted Christ as her Savior in 1956 at Immanuel Baptist Church and was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church since 1970.',
