'Shelby Castillo Keeton, 91 passed away on September 6, 2010, at his home in Monticello, Kentucky. He was born September 8, 1918, in the Oil Valley community of Wayne County to the late John and Katherine Castillo Keeton.Preceding him in death was his wife of 63 years, Lilly Blevins, whom he married on August 6, 1938. Also preceding him were his brothers Guy and Brian and his sisters Mary Ellis, Effie Bell and Maud Roberts. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Crabtree Stephens, whom he married on June 28, 2003; his five children, John (Merle) of Fort Wright, Kentucky; Jan Demel (Harold) of Hutchinson, Kansas; Don of Dayton, Ohio; Richard Ellis II (Monika) of Lexington, Kentucky,: and Kathy Beckler if High Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Debbie Richardson, Mark Keeton, Sandy Hilvers, Andy Demel, Vicki Demel, Stephanie Keeton, Richard Ellis III, Mitchell Beckler, Jennifer Turner and Patrick Beckler; and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.Shelby was a farmer, employee of Commonwealth Life Insurance Company and a proprietor of Keeton-s Antique Shop. He repaired thousands of watches and clocks over the years. He was a longtime member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church of Monticello. He served in the army during World War II and was one the liberators of Mauthausen Concentration Camp. He was a Mason most of his adult life. He was active in many organizations in his community and never met a stranger

Thursday from 5 to 9 at the Funeral Home and from 9 to 11 Friday at the Church
