'Sherman Hicks, age 95 was born July 4th, 1913 the son of the late Rickie and Daisy Stinson Hicks. He departed this life Thursday evening, October 2nd at the Clinton County Hospital in Albany after an extended illness.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Exie Brown Hicks who passed away November 29, 1998. To this union two children survive; Joyce Gilmore and Cecil Hicks both of Wayne County. Surviving are five grandchildren; Earlene Shelton, Sharon Thrasher, Lois, Phyllis and Phillip Hicks and five great grandchildren; Derek Shelton, Sheri Meadows, Sammy, Clarissa and Cheyenne Hicks.

Also surviving are his sisters, Nannie Belle Pyles, Necie Dishman and brothers, Ramie, Mintford, Newell and Bill Hicks.

His sisters, Bertha Hancock, Mary Dishman, Grace Brown and Seni Ann Hicks precede him in death.

Mr. Hicks had made Christ his Lord and was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith.
