'Shirley Jones Stamper was born August 19, 1949 the daughter of the late Menville Jones and Cora Abbott Sturgeon who survives. She passed away Friday morning, May 4th at her home surrounded by her family.
On May 16, 1968, she united in marriage with Edwin Stamper Jr. who survives. To this 49-year union three sons survive: David and wife Raven Stamper, John and his wife Laura Stamper and Scott and his wife Tasha Stamper.
Also surviving are her grandchildren: Nathaniel, Ava, Owen, Eli and Simon Stamper; and her brother, Roger Jones
Shirley was a retired teacher with the Wayne County School System. As a young lady she had accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of the Sandusky Chapel Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to the Monticello First Baptist Church where she was a devoted member. She served as the first lady selected on the Committee of Committees, she was also selected to serve on staff search committees, taught Sunday School and Bible School and worked in many other capacities.',
