'Sister Mary Evelyn Shepherd Abbott, age 94 was born May 21, 1921 in Bloomington, Illinois the daughter of the late Noah and Ethel Gastineau Lovins. She departed this life Friday morning, February 19th at the Cumberland Nursing and Rebab Center in Somerset.

She was united in marriage with Henry Shepherd who passed away in July of 1970. To this union four children survive: Allen and his wife Alexandra Shepherd, Joyce and husband Ronald Denney, Janet and her husband Martin Lester and Rachel and husband Tony Brown. Also surviving is her step daughter, Sheila and husband Chris Schmidt.

She later married Joe Delmer Abbott who passed away February 13, 1998.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; siblings: Ruth Dodge, Charlotte Grose and Jerry Lovins.

Sister Abbott accepted God\u0027s call on her life at the age of 21 and soon moved to Kentucky following God\u0027s will. She was instrumental in the formation of the Jesus Name Church of the Apostolic Faith of Monticello as well as numerous other works around the area. She faithfully followed God\u0027s call going and working wherever He sent her. Her reward for her amazing faith and obedience is well deserved.
