Susan (Logar) Hammond, age 82, was born December 8, 1942. She passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at Wayne County Hospital. Susan had a career in real estate, she also worked and retired from HMO Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Cleveland, Ohio. After moving to Monticello, Kentucky, she became a bus monitor for the Wayne County Schools. Susan was a longtime member of the Monticello Red Hats and Monticello TOPS.

She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and attended Cooper Baptist Church. Her favorite past time was spending time with family and meeting her lady friends for breakfast. She loved her dog Shadow and will be missed by her.

Susan is survived by her children: Tracy (Joseph) Vereb, Becky (Thomas) Burrill and James (Kendra) Ryan; Grandchildren: Melissa Vereb, Kasey Martin and Gregory Ryan; Great Grandchildren: Lily, Mckinley, Brooklynn, Delaney and Conor; Stepchildren: Connie Hammond, Michelle Johnson and Larry Rush; Which also comes with the joy of 5 more grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Brother: Lloyd Logar, Sister: Paulette Hayslett, along with many nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband Corbin (Bud) Hammond; Granddaughter: Holly Neal, her parents James and Gertrude Logar; Brothers: Tom, Dick and Tim Logar; Sisters: Gertrude Gross and Margaret Kosonovich.

­­­­­­­­­The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 11 AM – 1 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 1 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
